My Dinosaur World
This is my dinosaur world.
The dinosaurs have to stay in the fence. The biggest dinosaur can climb over the fence with his big legs because he is the tallest.
The red blocks are the meat. The T-Rex is by the meat.
The stones are the rocks.
The brown and green blocks are the trees.

Here is my sailboat. It was hard to make.
Lawrie helped me by holding the mast while I stuck it on. Then I helped hold Lawrie's boat.
My sailboat is going to go to the islands to find treasure. They are going to look under the ground of the sand. They might find treasure.

Writing Workshop Outside
Darcy's current writing goal is to use his word card to help him spell words he needs when he writes his stories. Today we had our writing workshop on this goal outside. First we read the words on our resource card then we each took turns reading a word on the card. The rest of the children had to locate the word then write it with chalk on the concrete. We don't have to write only in our books. We can write anywhere!
Using My Word Card
Darcy's current writing goal is to use his resource card when he is writing to help him spell many of the simple words he uses in her stories. Today we all practised reading the words on the word card. Then we took turns reading a word from the card and then every one writing that word down on a white board. We tried very hard to write each letter in our words around the right way. It was bit tricky trying to think of a sentence using our word.

"This is a house and I am going to the zoo. There is a space ship flying in the sky. I have a garden ."
Darcy spent a long time drawing and adding detail to his picture he drew. He was very proud of it and when some children saw him drawing they came and joined him and began to draw too. What an expert you are Darcy and thank you for talking to the other children about your picture.

Independent Writing
Today Darcy spent a long time working steadily in the writing corner. He wrote lots of letters that he copied from words and alphabets around him.
"At the top there is a D for Darcy, and there is an M for Mum and a B for Ben and an E for Esha (Darcy's dog)"
SUPER writing Darcy. You are working hard on your goal of writing lots of letters.

Comparing Houses
On our Friday Surprise Day we have been looking at a variety of houses and what makes them similiar and what makes them different. Our buddy and I made a house out of playdough. We didn't peek at our buddies house while we created them but when we finished we compared our houses.
"Darcy your one has a swimming pool. Mine has a swimming pool too but Darcy's swimming pool is big and mine is small."
"My roof is a triangle shape and Mitchell's roof is a circle shape. They are different."
" I have lots of windows and Darcy's house just has one."
My Boat Challenge
Here is a picture of Darcy holding his boat.
"I made it out of wood and paper for the sail. I used a stick to hold the sail. I made a hole to keep the stick on. I got a nail and banged it into the wood to make a hole. I stuck the stick into the hole.""
"The boat was floating on the blue water and then a wave came and it made the boat go under the water. Then the sail got wet and then it wouldn't sail. I had to go under the water to make it go."
